Unlike previous years, this year's reading event focuses on current hot topics. We have taken Human & Nature and War & Peace as the two assigned themes, with aim of guiding students to come up with their own opinions through multiple readings. We hope that our children, as IB learners, will be able to follow the current affairs, pay attention to the community and care for the world. 

Moreover, throughout this month, our students expressed their love, insights and thoughts on different literary works in a series of funny and engaging ways.

与往届不同的是，本届阅读盛事聚焦当下热点，把人与自然、战争与和平作为两大阅读指定主题，旨在引导学生们通过多方阅读，形成自己的观点。我们希望，我们的孩子们作为IB学习者，都能做到关注时事、关心社区、关爱世界。

不仅如此，在这长达一个月的时间里，同学们更以一系列趣味、活泼的方式表达了他们对不同文学作品的喜爱、见解与思考。

Reading is never boring but full of fun and imagination. On the Book Character Day, students dressed up in various costumes and transformed into their favourite book characters for a parade to showcase the charm of the book characters. The exciting catwalk session inspired students' imagination and creativity in a unique way, conveying the joy of reading.

阅读从来不是枯燥乏味的事情，而是充满趣味性与想象力的，在书本角色日当天，学生们身着各式各样的服装，化身自己喜欢的书中人物，进行游行走秀，彰显书中角色的魅力。精彩纷呈的展示环节以一种独特的方式激发着学生的想象力与创造力，传递着阅读的快乐。

Sharing a good book allows people to gain new knowledge and experiences, and more than that, it builds empathy and connection. Through the sharing, we grow together. During the November, children recommended their favourite books to their peers through a rich variety of forms, so that good books can be prevalent in the campus.

分享一本好书不仅可以让人们获得新的知识和体验，更可以建立起共鸣和连接。通过分享，我们可以一起成长。用心制作，诚意满满，孩子们通过丰富的形式，向小伙伴们推荐他们的心爱书籍，让好书在校园里传递开来。

Choosing some appropriate books, through the interactive approaches, students in the upper grades lead children in the lower grades to explore the stories in the books together. With such meaningful cross-grade book sharing activities, students are able to build friendships, develop the responsibility and communication skills, and work together to develop good reading habits and literacy.

选择合适的绘本或故事书，通过互动的方式，高年级的学生带领着低年级的小朋友们一起探索书中的故事。这样的跨年级读书分享活动，学生们可以在阅读中建立友谊，培养责任心与沟通能力，共同发展良好的阅读习惯和素养。

Our parents stepped into the classrooms and shared wonderful reading stories with the children. Under the patient guidance of the parents, the children contemplated the meaning and value behind the stories and expressed their thoughts and feelings boldly. In such an environment, children do not just passively accept the information, but actively explore the knowledge, tand show their imagination and creativity.

踏入教室，与孩子们一起分享精彩的读书故事。在家长们的耐心引导下，孩子们认真地思考着故事背后的意义与价值，大胆地表达自己的想法和感受。在这样的环境下，孩子们不仅仅是被动地接受知识，而是主动地探索、思考，尽情展现自己的想象力和创造力。

With the joint efforts of I-EP and Mi Bookstore in Dayuehui, we invited Mr. Chen Xichang, a well-known Chinese entomology writer, to visit our school and share his books with the children. Our children benefited a lot from Mr Chen's in-depth explanation. The writer workshop not only ignited the their love of reading, but also stimulated their strong interest in nature and the humanities. Through interaction with the writers, the students have learnt about the stories behind the texts and further broadened horizons.

在我校和大悦汇覔书店的共同努力下，我们邀请到了中国知名昆虫学作家陈锡昌老师莅临现场，为孩子们分享图书。陈老师深入浅出的讲解，让孩子们受益匪浅。这次活动不仅点燃了孩子们心中对阅读的热爱，还激发了他们对自然和人文的浓厚兴趣。通过与作家的互动，学生们了解到了文字背后的故事，进一步开阔了眼界。

★ 陈锡昌，中国昆虫学会蝴蝶分会理事，广东省昆虫学会理事，广东昆虫摄影协会副会长，从事生物环保教育工作30余年，其著作《蝴蝶故事》曾获得“冰心儿童图书奖”，出版半年销量就达到1.5万册。

Chen Xichang, director of the Butterfly Branch of the Entomological Society of China, director of the Entomological Society of Guangdong Province, as well as the vice president of the Guangdong Entomological Photography Association, has been engaged in biological environmental protection education for more than 30 years. His book "Butterfly Story" has won the "Bingxin Children's Book Award" and sold 15,000 copies in 6 months after publication.

In order to encourage students to read actively and to create a positive reading atmosphere throughout the campus, Zhiyuan Library in I-EP also organized a reading 8-grid games for the children. In a playful way, it guides students to read actively, cultivates interest in reading, and makes reading become the habits in their lives.

为了鼓励学生们积极阅读，并在全校范围内营造积极向上的阅读氛围，致远图书馆还精心组织了阅读八宫格趣味活动。以游戏化的方式，引导学生们主动阅读，培养他们的阅读兴趣，让阅读成为孩子们生活中的习惯。

At the same time, an international book fair was organized outside the library to enrich the students' reading experience and to expose them to different types of books while they were still on campus. We filled in the names of our favourite books on the wish cards distributed by our teachers, brought them back home and tell our parents, then purchased the books following the rules. All of us enjoy the pleasure of reading by wandering in the wonderland of books.

与此同时，图书馆外面还举办了国际图书展，以此丰富学生们的阅读，让同学们待在校园就能接触到不同类型的书籍。我们把喜欢书籍的信息填在老师分发的心愿卡上面，并带回家告诉爸爸妈妈，再根据规则购买图书。大家尽情徜徉在书海中，享受阅读的快乐。

IB promotes students to become lifelong learners who care for others and are able to fulfil their responsibilities and love in their daily lives. In this activity, we encourage students to donate books for building a reading area on campus. At the same time, parts of these books will be also donated to the schools in remote areas of Guizhou, spreading the atmosphere of reading to farther places.

IB倡导学生成为关爱他人的终身学习者，并能在日常生活中践行责任与爱心。在本次活动中，我们鼓励学生以捐赠书籍的方式，共同建设学校的阅读区域。同时，我们还会将收集到的合适书籍捐赠给贵州山区的学校，将阅读的火种传播到更远的地方。
